30 May 2010

On May 30 2010 Primates of the Constantinople and the Russian Orthodox Churches visited the historical building of Synod. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia invited Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople and participants of his delegation to the Church of Holy Fathers of Seven Ecumenical Councils.

Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church said in retrospect: “We are living in time when the canonical order has been revived in the Russian Church. Synod stopped being a public institution — today it is a canonical body of the Russian Orthodox Church”, - the Patriarch concluded.

Patriarch Kirill expressed gratitude to the Patriarch Bartholomew for his visit and saw him to the room, where sessions of the Holy Synod take place.
