
Documentary cinema are in the focus of the Presidential Library
Modern documentary films will be added to the holdings of the Presidential Library.
This was stated by Director General of the first national digital library of Russia, Alexander Vershinin. He noted that the national cinema today is rich in interesting, talented works on the history of the Russian statehood. This topic is consonant with the mission of collection development of the Presidential Library.
Movies of the known documentary filmmaker, Sergei Miroshnichenko, can serve an example of works that may be included in the electronic holdings of materials. He is the author of works, known in our country and abroad, in particular, such films as "Born in the USSR", "Unknown Putin", "Georgy Zhzhyonov. Russian cross", "Solzhenitsyn. Living without lies" and many others.
For the contribution to the development of documentary cinema, in 2013, Sergey Miroshnichenko was awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of literature and art. September 28, 2012, the producer visited the Presidential library, praised its work and the development of a multi-functional informational and educational center.
Alexander Sokurov is another film director, whose works could also be among the first to be added to the holdings of the Presidential Library.
