Modern views of life in the Presidential Library’s Cinema Club
The eighth meeting of the Cinema Club - a joint project of the Presidential Library and "Lennauchfilm" studio - turned into multimedia festival. The audience in the hall of the library and the Internet audience were presented with the portfolio of novice filmmakers, graduates of "M-Art» studio under the Center of creative development and humanitarian education "On Vasilevsky."
Young authors recognized that during their work, they often used the techniques of the "new cinema." It helped them to identify "the nerve of time" and to rethink the usual things. The names of the projects presented speak for themselves: "Metamorphosis of Water", "Letters from the Front," "Green Parables" and "Lessons of Loyalty and Love. Blessed Xenia", "House – a Witness of the Past."
As it was noted at the meeting, the best works of novice art designers and filmmakers can be included in the collections of the Presidential Library. The studio "M-Art» and the library have been co-operating in the field of multimedia technology for three years now. In particular, one of the works of the studio - "Letters from the Front" - is part of the digital collection of the Presidential Library. Multimedia "Letters" are family stories told by children about their loved ones - veterans of the Great Patriotic War.
Participants of the meeting were also presented with a new joint project of the library and the studio regarding the meaning of phraseology. This topic is particularly relevant in the Year of Russian language, which will be officially launched at the Presidential Library September 1, 2013. Plasma screens of multimedia gallery hall broadcasted a video on a bright and mysterious fate of phraseology. It is designed in the style of Bilibin’s drawings and playfully explains the meaning of collocations of the native language well-known but little understood by many modern students.
The cooperation will continue. The following year, as it was noted at the meeting of the cinema club, the Presidential Library in cooperation with the studio is planning to establish a festival "Multimedia Holiday" that will feature the works of graduates of the studios and universities of the city.
Film lovers’ meetings in the Presidential Library have become a traditional project, which received in the northern capital a considerable resonance. With great interest the audience watched documentaries on Olga Bergholz, Alexander Nevsky, the 300th anniversary of the Alexander Nevsky Monastery, the masters of Russian avant-garde. According to the organizers and visitors of the cinema club, technical facilities and parameters of multimedia hall of the Presidential Library make it one of the best screening rooms in the city.
By tradition, all the meetings are broadcast live on the website of the Presidential Library, thereby significantly expanding the audience of the cinema club.
