The Presidential Library is working in regions

In the days of celebration of its fifth anniversary, the Presidential Library opened new electronic reading rooms on the basis of the Don State Public Library and Saratov Regional Universal Scientific Library. There was also opened a regional center on the basis of the Kaliningrad Regional Universal Scientific Library. Residents of Rostov, Saratov and Kaliningrad regions received open access to the Presidential Library collections, which today numbers more than 315, 000 units.

Regional centers and electronic reading rooms become the venue for cultural and educational events on the Russian history and culture, as well as meetings, conferences, video lectures, film demonstrations through video-conferencing regularly organized on the basis of the Presidential Library.

At present, there are approximately 100 electronic reading rooms of the library in Russia and abroad. The Director-General of the Presidential Library Alexander Vershinin said: "Of particular importance to us are regional centers, which not only provide access to our collections, but are designed to coordinate the integration of information resources from archives, libraries, museums, educational institutions of the regions."
