
The Presidential Library signed the agreement on cooperation with Kaliningrad region
At "BIBLIOCARAVAN 2014" Russian Public Libraries Forum were exchanged the agreements signed between the Presidential Library and the Government of Kaliningrad Region. Document is sealed with the signatures of the General Director of the Presidential Library Alexander Vershinin and Kaliningrad Governor Nikolai Tsukanov.
The agreement is provided for the organization of joint educational and cultural activities on the history, theory and practice of the Russian State system, using the funds of the electronic repository.
History of the relationship of the Presidential Library and the Kaliningrad region began in August of 2013. In particular, the August 21, 2013, agreement was signed between the Presidential Library and Kaliningrad Regional Scientific Library to open a local access center to the resources of the Presidential Library. The opening ceremony was held at the All-Russian Library Day, on May 27, 2014. Launching the regional center of the Presidential Library has provided the region's residents with an access to electronic copies of rare historical documents and books, as well as the little known archival materials, previously closed to the general public.
Regional Network of the Presidential Library is developing in accordance with the June 18, 2007, decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the establishment of library branches in all regions of the Russian Federation. About 100 regional centers and electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library runs today throughout the country, the Presidential Library branch was launched and is actively developing now Tyumen Region.
