In 2015, Russian Ministry of Defense is planning to start providing access to the resources of the Presidential Library at its educational institutions. Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Nikolai Pankov offered the first national electronic library of the country to develop cooperation, significantly increasing the number of military educational institutions, where they can make the collections of the Presidential Library available.

Director General of the Library Alexander Vershinin gave specific instructions to implement these plans. It is assumed that the electronic reading rooms of the Presidential Library will appear, in particular, at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and at the Military Educational and Research center of the Ground Forces “Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation" in Moscow, at the Pacific Higher Naval School in Vladivostok, at the Military Medical Academy, at the Military Space Academy in St. Petersburg and other institutions of higher education. Nikolai Pankov also proposed to open access to the Presidential Library collections at the pre-university educational institutions of the Russian Defense Ministry. Among them - Presidential Cadet Schools in Vladivostok, Sevastopol, Tyumen and Krasnodar, Suvorov Military School in St. Petersburg, Nakhimov Naval School.

Establishment of regional centers and remote electronic reading rooms provides access to the cultural heritage of Russia in digital format. The development of relations with the military educational institutions will not only ensure access to the Presidential Library collections, which include more than 370,000 items. It will also provide an opportunity to actively engage cadets, students and teachers in educational, research projects, to obtain unique documents and materials from the archives of the educational institutions under the Ministry of Defense in order to digitize them.

By now, the Presidential Library has opened about 120 regional centers and remote electronic reading rooms in 64 regions of the Russian Federation. Among them there are "army" centers of access: Military Training and Research Center of the Navy "N. G. Kuznetsov Naval Academy" in St. Petersburg, the P. S. Nakhimov Black Sea Higher Naval Order of the Red Star School in Sevastopol, Moscow Cadet Corps “Boarding School of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation," Suvorov Military School in Moscow, Orenburg Presidential Cadet School. It is planned to open at least five new facilities in 2015 in conjunction with the Ministry of Defense, and this work will be carried out continuously.
