Day of Russia in Pulkovo to be celebrated with the Presidential Library photo exhibition

On the eve of Russia's Day, celebrated on June 12, the Presidential Library and Pulkovo Airport will present the first joint project - "Foreign View" in Pulkovo: to the Day of Russia" - a unique photo exhibition of the same name based on the international photo contest. In addition, the image-building photography project may draw attention of the delegates arriving at the XX Petersburg International Economic Forum.

At one site will meet the representatives of Russia, Japan, the USA, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Norway - a total of 12 countries - through the photos to demonstrate their view of the Russian culture, history, traditions and people. The opening of the project will be held on June 10 at 15.00 in the departure lounge for domestic flights of the centralized passenger terminal Pulkovo. The exposition will be part of the cultural space of the airport for two months of the summer and will be open to the public until August 10.

The basis of the project is pictures of participants of the Annual International Photo Contest of the Presidential Library "Foreign View", which will be held for the seventh time this year. Photos are printed with the support of a network of salons "Bright photo market". Traditionally, participants - amateurs and professionals - send photographs to the contest based on the approved nominations. The works made by foreigners in Russia, as well as works of the Russians made abroad, are accepted. In the entire history of the contest more than 19 000 works were received, which form the basis of photo albums, exhibited at exhibitions, they are reflected in the video films and promo videos that are on display at various events. 

The photo project will present pictures of different years in the following nominations: "The strength of the people's diplomacy", "People and traditions", "Countries and people", "Generation of winners", "Revived footage".

The opening ceremony will be held with the participation of Vladimir Spivakov International Charity Foundation, whose representatives at the airport will give a concert with theatrical pieces performed in Russian folk instruments.

"Bright photo market" has been a partner of "Foreign view" project since 2012. Working together to attract participants to the photo contest is actively conducted in social networks and at the official website of the store network. Subject selection of photographs, prepared by experts of the Presidential Library and "Vivid photo market", also accompanied the festival Days of Korean cinema.

The Presidential Library annually celebrates the Day of Russia, digitizing the little-known historical documents, organizing educational activities and implementing joint partnership projects. Multilateral work, focused on patriotic education and the strengthening of national identity, will be continued.
