“Russia in the Electronic World” Olympiad starts in a week

On September 14, staff employees of the electronic reading room of the Penza Regional Library named after M. Y. Lermontov have organized an event dedicated to the beginning the Russia in the Electronic World Olympiad of the Presidential Library for the 10th and the 11th grade students of “SUN” University-preparatory School.

The children were told about a very body of the electronic library stock, an access mode to different materials, about some of the collections on the Presidential Library website.

The main goal of the event is to inform senior high school students about the Olympiad in history, social studies and the Russian language, which is annually held by the Presidential Library. The first qualifying stage of the Olympiad “Russia in the Electronic World” will be handled remotely using special system of tests during the period from September 21 to November 30, 2017. The second qualifying stage will be also held remotely form from December 12, 2017, to January 25, 2018. The third final round will be held in presence form the 13th to the 15th from March 2018.

The library staff employees told the students about the rules-n-conditions of the Olympiad, the registration procedure, some publications used in preparation for the answers, and the technical questions of testing. High school students were existed to find out about the winners of last year.

To let kids know a level of complexity in the competition problems, they were offered to participate in based on the previous competitions’ tasks quiz.

Many high school students who are going to enroll the universities for humanitarian majors became interested in this Olympiad and would like to participate in it.
