A ceremony in memory of those killed at the fronts of the First and Second World Wars was held in London

November 12, 2017 London hosted a memorial ceremony of laying wreaths to the Soviet War Memorial in a park near the Imperial War Museum.

Traditionally, every second Sunday in November, on Memorial Day, throughout the UK, with the participation of members of the royal family and high state and military leaders, solemn ceremonies are held in memory of those killed at the fronts of the First and Second World Wars, as well as in the fighting in modern history. The participants honored the memory of heroes.

The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of London's Sasek district, members of the British Parliament, diplomatic delegations, representatives of Russian and British state and public organizations, local authorities, British veterans.

The ceremony was organized by the Fund of the Soviet Military Memorial with the assistance of the Society for Assistance in Soviet and Russian Studies, the Russian Embassy and the Rossotrudnichestvo office.

The Presidential Library portal features electronic collections "The First World War (1914-1918)" and "Memory of the Great Victory". They include official documents, photo and newsreels, wartime newspapers, books, propaganda-type publications, collections of articles, biographies, testimonies from combatants and workers in the rear, their personal documents, images of combat and labor awards, monuments and memorials complexes, thoughts about the war of grandsons and great-grandchildren of veterans.
