New media contest of the Presidential Library will show a coloring of the North Caucasus

15 December 2017

The “Caucasus.doc” media contest started in Cherkessk in early December. The competition is held with the support of the Presidential Library, the head and the government of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic. Work entries are accepted until April 12, 2018. The results will be announced on April 30, 2018. The project is implemented within the framework of the first information and educational center of the Presidential Library, opened in the North Caucasus last year on the basis of the “Arkhyz 24” republican television channel of Karachay-Cherkessia.

The main goal of the contest is to popularize the positive image of the North Caucasus at the federal level; to support talented representatives in the media environment, both professionals and laypersons, and to draw attention to historical events related to the development of Karachay-Cherkessia and other republics of the North Caucasus.

For the Presidential Library and the Karachay-Cherkess Republic this is not the first joint project. Last year the “Caucasus.doc” First All-Russian Photography Competition was already successfully held. Now the contest, apart from involving photographs, will also review videos, as well as text materials published in the media and the blogosphere. The main requirement is the reflection of the amazing nature, multinational culture and exceptional Caucasian color scheme. Overall 9 nominations were established: “The Caucasus: a breath of history” (memories of fellow countrymen), “The Caucasus: day by day” (the events and significant occasions at the regional or county level), “Caucasian character” (the beauty of people working for the benefit of the region), “The mountain woman. How striking you are now!” (The beauty of the Caucasian women), “The future of the Caucasus” (young countrymen), “A magic of the Caucasus” (nature of the North Caucasus), and finally the “Mobile Caucasus” (photo, video, text materials reflecting the Caucasus in all its manifestations and published in social networks with a hashtag #kavkazdoc2018). The nomination “A Word on the Caucasus” deserves special attention. Text materials contributing to the formation of a positive image of the North Caucasus and published in the media, social networks, blogs from April 25, 2017 to March 15, 2018 deserve participation.

All materials submitted to the Media Contest “Kavkaz.doc” will add to the Presidential Library, which currently equals about 600,000 entries, and will be available to all interested online.

If you would like to participate in the contest, please submit your work along with accompanying documents in electronic form to kavkaz.doc@arkhyz24.ru, specifying a nomination, or upload it in one of the social networks with the hashtag #kavkazdoc2018.

Detailed information on the technical requirements for the entries can be found in the instruction to the “Kavkaz.doc” media contest.
