16 February 2018

February 16, 2018, the Presidential Library hosted a meeting of the World Club of Petersburgers, at which the electronic version of the Journal of Eternal Values "Addresses of Petersburg", the constant information partner of the club, was presented.

Opening the meeting, the Director of the State Hermitage, the President of the World Club of Petersburgers Mikhail Piotrovsky called the style of "Addresses of Petersburg" "the real Petersburg journalism" and expressed the hope that, despite the appearance of electronic one, "the paper version will not disappear".

The editor-in-chief of the journal, Sergei Yaroshetsky, assured that the magazine would be published in the usual format, and stressed that the appearance of the electronic version of the publication will help to expand the readership - it is convenient to read articles on the Internet portal of the journal, to look at illustrations, you can find missing in the home meeting issues, get familiar with the authors and communicate with the editorial staff in an interactive format.

Also, within the framework of the event, the Presidential Library was given an electronic archive of the journal, about 70 issues - all that were published from the day of its foundation in 2003. And this is not accidental. After all, as it was noted at the meeting of the World Club of Petersburgers, the journal and the Presidential Library, the first electronic national library of Russia, "take into account eternal values". To date, in all 85 regions of the Russian Federation, about 500 centers for remote access to its resources have been opened and operate, and over 30 centers in 28 countries. Thus, the documents and materials of the Presidential Library are widely represented for readers and users not only in Russia but also abroad. And now, after the transfer of the electronic version of the archive "Addresses of Petersburg" to the Presidential Library, the magazine will be available to any user, and therefore even more popular.

On this day it became known about one more edition, which will be added to the Presidential Library collections. Welcoming the audience at the meeting of the club, the ambassador at large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Churov said in a video message that he donated the library a book about his father, Evgeny Petrovich Churov, a participant in the Great Patriotic War.
