Opening of the regional center of the Presidential Library in the Chelyabinsk region

February 20, 2018 the opening of the regional center of the Presidential Library in the Chelyabinsk region was held. It is located in the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Scientific Library.

Interaction between libraries began about five years ago, an agreement on cooperation between the government of the Chelyabinsk region and the Presidential Library was signed in December 2017.

The opening ceremony of the regional center of the Presidential Library was attended by officials of the Chelyabinsk region: Deputy Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region V. M. Evdokimov, the First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Chelyabinsk region G. V. Tsukerman, Deputy Minister of Information Technologies and Communications of the Chelyabinsk Region V. V. Kokoryukin , leading specialists of centralized library systems and institutes for improving the qualifications of educators, directors of general education institutions, vice-rectors of leading universities of the city, representatives of public organizations, as well as colleagues from the Sverdlovsk and Kurgan regions.

Director General of the Presidential Library A. P. Vershinin welcomed participants and guests of the event through the video conferencing mode.

As part of the event, an interregional scientific and practical conference "The Presidential Library in the Southern Urals. The reference point" where the director of the Chelyabinsk Regional Universal Scientific Library Natalia Diskaya presented the project "The Presidential Library in the Southern Urals", took place.

On the Presidential Library portal the region is represented by the collection "Chelyabinsk region: pages of history". The selection includes digital copies of studies, essays, archival documents, statistical materials, photographs and sound recordings covering geographic, demographic, socioeconomic, socio-political and other aspects of the history of the Chelyabinsk region, especially the first third of the XX century.
