"Boyarin Orsha" is a silent art short film produced by PI Chardynin based on the eponymous poem by M. Yu. Lermontov in 1909. Production: Trading House A Khanzhonkov. The premiere took place on January 2 (15), 1910. The film was preserved without titles. - The plot of the picture: The Dnieper River near Lithuania. The adopted son of the boyar Orsha - Arseny (AA Gromov) sails on a boat for a date with his beloved, the youngest boyar's daughter (AV Goncharov). Boyar Orsha (PI Chardynin) in the manor house celebrates his return home after service with Ivan the Terrible. Daughter with him, but always looks out the window and soon leaves the room. Arseny climbs from the back porch into the window in the face to the girl. Boyars Orsha learns about the meeting, finding the lovers kissing. Enraged, he locks his daughter in the light, and the servants take Arseny to prison, where they tie him to a pillar. The banks of the Dnieper, the servicemen are sent to Arseny for help, freeing him from the dungeon. Arseny flies to Lithuania. Boyars Orsha, learning about the escape, threatens Arseny after him. The Dnieper bank, Arseny returns to his homeland with a detachment of Lithuanians to liberate his beloved. In battle, the boyar Orsha perishes. Arseny ascends into the light, but finds there only the skeleton of his beloved .
