On the front side - the image of the State Banner of the Russian Empire. The state banner of Russia was made of golden fabric, on which was depicted the image of the state eagle and all the emblems of the kingdoms and grand duchies that make up the Russian Empire. The flagpole, border and fringe were black, yellow and white. The shaft was crowned with a golden "apple" (power) with a state eagle. Years on the Andreev ribbons of the banner were indicated: 862 (the foundation of the state), 988 (the baptism of Rus), 1497 (acceptance of the tsar's title) and 1721 (the adoption of the imperial title).
