Location: From a private collection. - Souvenir badge "International flights to space: Intercosmos" is dedicated to the Soviet space program, which allowed cosmonauts and organizations of countries friendly to the USSR to participate in space research. In April 1967, the specialists of the countries concerned adopted a program on joint work in the field of research and use of outer space for peaceful purposes, which in 1970 was called Interkosmos. The program involved countries: the USSR, Bulgaria, Hungary, the German Democratic Republic, Cuba, Mongolia, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania, and others joined later. In accordance with the program, the Soviet Union gratuitously provided its equipment for space research - rockets and satellites, on which scientific equipment was installed, created by scientists and specialists of the participating states. Artificial satellites of the Earth, created for joint research, as well as the program, were called "Intercosmos" .
