The fifth part of the album includes: a cover-saver, 3 photos of the icon "Annunciation". The photographs show a general view and fragments of the icon.
The icon presented in the album illustrates the Gospel story - the appearance of the Archangel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary with the good news that she will become the mother of God. The Virgin is depicted seated in an armchair with a spindle in her hands, to her right is a winged Archangel with a staff. One wing of Gabriel stretched behind his back, the other - raised in greeting. In the church tradition the Annunciation is regarded as the first act of redemption, in which the obedience of the Mother of God balances the disobedience of Eve. Spindle with red yarn is the image of the flesh of Christ, a symbol of the fact that the Mother of God is chosen to dress the Sanctuary of the Divine with the purple robe of her flesh. The white dove in the ray of light is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. - The materials of the site were used: "To the Truth" (URL: http://www.k-istine.ru/base_faith/holidays/annunciation_ikons.htm) .
