Since February 4, 1938, the newspaper has become the organ of the Leningrad Military District and is published under the title "On Guard of the Motherland". Since November 2010, the newspaper "The Guardian of the Motherland" - the printed organ of the Western Military District, is published as a regional tab to the central publication of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the newspaper "Krasnaya Zvezda" .
