In 1985, to the 40th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War in the memorial "Eternal Flame" was erected in the city of Derbent. The memorial is a composition of three stel-walls, lined with a gray and red stone, before the stela burns the Eternal Flame. On the central wall there is a memorable inscription and dates: 1941-1945. The stele on the right lists the names of Derbent people - Heroes of the Soviet Union. The author of the project is the architect Sergey Khizgievich Yagudaev .
