In the lower segment there is the inscription "1 RUBLE" in two lines. The image and inscriptions are relief. The reverse side (reverse): in the center is an image of the monument to commemorate the outstanding achievements of the Soviet people in the exploration of outer space against the background of the first artificial Earth satellite and orbiting scientific research complex in space, below: on the left is the date "1979", the year of release, to the right is the emblem XXII Summer Olympic Games in 1980 in Moscow.
