The monument "To immortality that passed away" was installed in the inner courtyard of the St. Petersburg State University on May 30, 1986, designed by architect V. S. Vasilchikov and sculptors V. P. and S. V. Astapov. The monument is a granite stele with a bronze bas-relief of round shape, which depicts the warriors leaving for the front, and the woman accompanying them with the child. The monument is dedicated to fighters from the students, teachers and professors of Leningrad State University (now St. Petersburg State University), who defended our Motherland during the Great Patriotic War.
