Memorial inscription on the back of the monument to the "Young Heroes of the Defense of the City of Lenin": "This monument, heroes of all pioneer heroes, will be erected by the Leninists with young hands."
The monument to the "Young Heroes of Defense of the City of Lenin" is installed in the Tauride Garden on the shore of the Great Pond, opposite the Tauride Palace. It was opened on November 10, 1962. Sculptors: V. S. Novikov, I. N. Kostyukhin. Architects: AI Alymov, F. A. Gepner. It was created on the initiative of the pupils of the school No. 58 in memory of the children who participated in the defense of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War. The monument is a stela with high relief, made of sandstone. The stele depicts a dilapidated wall. In the monolithic stone, the stelae cut down a sculptural composition of four figures of pioneers. Over the relief burned the text: "Young heroes of the defense of the city of Lenin." On the back side of the monument there is an inscription: "To the courage, the will of the brave, to their heroic heroes, heroes who are devoted to all of them, this monument will be erected by Lenin's young hands"
