The monument, created from the wreckage of wrecks taken from the bottom of Ladoga, is installed near the railway station of the station Ladoga Lake. Earlier on the pedestal of the monument was a bronze plaque with the inscription "Steel can be bent, human will never". The monument to the ships of the Road of Life is established in memory of the exploits of the sailors of the Baltic Fleet and ships, their work that saved Leningrad.
