In 1812, Colonel, chief of the Perm Infantry Regiment as part of the 15th Infantry Division of the 1st separate infantry corps. On October 18, 1812, he was promoted to major general for the courage shown in the battle of Klyastitsy. In the battle of Golovshchina, he was seriously wounded with a bullet in his head and left the army for almost a year.
