In 1812, Major-General, the commander of the brigade (the Transfiguration and Semenovsky Regiments) of the Guards Infantry Division, distinguished himself at Borodin (awarded the Order of St. Anne of the 1st degree) and Red (awarded the Order of St. George of the 3rd class).
