Chigirev Yury Mikhailovich (born January 20, 1925 in Rostov, Yaroslavl Region) - went to the front in January 1943. He studied at the Tambov machine-gun school. Member of the Battle of Kursk. He fought in the Bryansk Front. Was injured. He fought in the third Belorussian Front. Participated in the combat operation "Bagration". During the war he also served as a cryptographer.
