The words in the Tatar, Chuvash, Mordovian and Cheremiss languages were collected under the leadership of Damaskin (Semenov-Rudnev). The title page and the foreword in parallel in Russian and Latin. The basis of the dictionary was composed of materials received from Russian governors, Russian envoys at foreign courtyards and from foreign scientists, according to a program that was developed by PS Pallas in 1785.
