On May 18, 2011, the Scientific Conference "The Idea of ​​the Rule of Law in Russia: History and Modernity" dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of PA Stolypin was held at the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library. At the opening of the conference were made by the Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation A.V. Konovalov, adviser to the President of the Russian Federation on legal issues V.F. Yakovlev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia IE Manylov. The participants of the conference discussed the possibility of applying the experience of legal reform in strengthening the modern legal state. The reports on the significance of the ideas of PA Stolypin for modern Russia were made by VN Pligin and PA Pozhigailo, chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on Constitutional Legislation and State Building, and PA Stolypin, president of the Heritage Study Fund. The work of the conference continued with the sessions of the sections. In the Presidential Library there were sections "Ideas and problems of legal statehood in Russia in the light of the legacy of PA Stolypin" and "The development of the judiciary as the basis for the formation of a lawful state."
