On July 6-7, 2011, within the precincts of the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library, the jubilee, tenth, meeting of heads of special services, security agencies and law enforcement agencies on the issues of combating terrorism was held. For two days, traditional exchange of national experience in countering terrorist threats was conducted at general meetings and sectional meetings. The results of the ten-year activity of the meeting, which became one of the mechanisms for the practical implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1373 and the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, were discussed. The main topic of discussions, as in previous years, was the unification of the efforts of the states for coordinated counteraction to terrorist threats. Particular attention was paid to the problem of countering the radicalization of the population, especially young people, and the activities of terrorist organizations in the Internet. At the invitation of the Russian Federal Security Service, 93 delegations from 63 countries, representatives of four international organizations, including members of the anti-terrorist committees existing under the UN Security Council, representatives of the CIS Anti-Terrorist Center, the EU coordinator for combating terrorism arrived at the annual meeting. For the first time, representatives of Nicaragua led by the Minister of the Interior Anna Isabel Moralis Masun attended the meeting.
