October 26, 2011 at the Presidential Library named after Boris N. Yeltsin, with the information support of RIA Novosti, a round table was held on the theme: "What to teach and how to teach?". Employees of universities, secondary special educational institutions of St. Petersburg and cultural figures discussed the reform of higher education and the use of information technology in the educational process. The meeting was held within the framework of the VI International Film Festival "World of Knowledge" that is taking place these days in St. Petersburg, the purpose of which is the revival of interest in popular science films. Among the participants of the round table were the president of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, the co-chairman of the National Committee "Intellectual Resources of Russia" Oleg L. Kuznetsov, the professor of the St. Petersburg State University ITMO AA Shalyt, the vice-president of the Union of Directors of the Secondary Special Educational Institutions of Russia V.P. Smirnov, author and presenter of television programs AM Shemyakin.
