On June 9, 2011, in the Presidential Library of Boris Yeltsin, in the framework of the III Congress of Peter's Cities, a meeting was held dedicated to the birthday of the first Russian emperor and the official opening of the Peter the Great's Institute. The event was attended by representatives of the scientific and cultural community of Russia, as well as France and Belgium. Welcoming addresses were made by the vice-governor of St. Petersburg A. Yu. Manilov, writer DA Granin, chairman of the Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation - State Heraldmaster G.V. Vilinbakhov. The event continued presentation of Petrine projects and books prepared by the Peter the Great Institute together with partners, including the State Hermitage Museum, the State Museum-Reserve Peterhof, the Heraldic Council under the President of the Russian Federation. The participants of the meeting heard Russian music of the 18th century. |
