The first capital bridge across the Dnieper. It was built in 1853 according to the design of the English engineer C. Vignol. The bridge (length 776 m, width 16 m) became one of the largest architectural constructions of its time. In 1912, a tram started to follow it. He had a diverting section for the passage of steamers. Twice destroyed. To date, not preserved. In 1963, almost at the same place, the Metro Bridge was built.
