The photo shows a monument to the submarine hero FA Vidyaev, located on the territory of 161 Red Banner Order Ushakov 1st degree submarine brigade in the town of Polyarny. The monument is a bust of F. Vidyaev, installed on a high pedestal. On the front side of the pedestal there is an inscription: "Feodor Vidyaev", as well as symbolic images of the three Orders of the Red Banner and the image of a submarine in a wreath of laurel branches. The author of the project is the artist A. Ya. Koltsov. The monument was installed on November 6, 1943, with funds collected by the North Sea. Lieutenant-captain Fyodor Alekseyevich Vidyaev was the commander of the submarine "Shch-421", the gentleman of three orders of the Red Banner and the Order of the British Empire of the 4th degree. He was killed in July 1943 when performing a combat mission. In honor of FA Vidyaev, the village of Vidyaevo in the Murmansk region and the submarine base in the Northern Fleet .
