The photo shows a monument to the heroes - seamen of the water area protection, located on Dushenov street in Polar, Murmansk region. It is two ferroconcrete black slabs 10 m high and 3 m wide, standing on a low wide pedestal, at the corners of which are set 4 mines, connected by a chain. At the top of one of the plates is a white bas-relief with the image of a group of sailors at the flag. Below him, the text is cut out: "We are sworn to your banner, fathers and brothers." We owe our life to you, your feat will forever preserve the grateful memory of the people. " On the other slab there is a bas-relief "Sea Battle" and the words: "In memory of the heroes of the North Sea marines of the OVR is dedicated". The monument was opened on November 6, 1967. The authors of the project - V. E. Goreva and J. Ya. Neumann .
