The photo shows a monument on the grave of the poet-severomorets Yaroslav Ivanovich Rodionov, located in the military section of the city cemetery in Polar . The monument is a concrete stela, covered with a black marble slab with a portrait and dates. Yaroslav Rodionov is a poet, playwright, member of the Writers' Union of the USSR. In early 1941 he wrote the words for "The Song of an Old Cabman", which became known in the performance of Leonid Utyosov. Since November 1941 - an employee of the newspaper of the Northern Fleet Krasnoflotets in Polar, he also worked in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Northern Fleet, wrote ditties for him. I flew across the front line, went to sea on warships. In May 1943, he was awarded the Order of the Red Star. He died in 1943 in a train, not far from the city of Kandalaksha, with a raid by German aviation. The seamen-Severomorsk, carrying out the will of the deceased comrade, buried him with military honors in the town of Polyarny. The monument was opened on September 13, 2003.
