The film tells about the visit of Norwegian archaeologist, traveler and writer Tour Heyerdahl in 2001 in the city of Azov (Rostov region) and his participation in archaeological excavations in the city. The purpose of the expedition was to find out which peoples inhabited this territory in antiquity and to confirm the hypothesis of T. Heyerdahl that Odin (the supreme god in German-Scandinavian mythology) was a real person, the leader of the Asa tribe who lived in the vicinity of Tanais. The film confirms that in ancient times these places were inhabited by Alans (Ases), the ancestors of modern Ossetians. As evidence, the results of the excavations and opinions of experts, in particular, archaeologists, S. Lukyashko and V. Kiyashko, are presented.
