The picture depicts portraits of the sub-lieutenants of the Izmailovsky Life Guards Regiment Matvey Dmitriyevich Goryunov and Andrei Karlovich Mikhailovsky. For the period of the First World War, M. Goryunov was awarded the St. George crosses of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades for showing courage in battle, AK Mikhailovsky was awarded the George Cross of the 1st degree .
