BR> "Nevsky Piglet" - designation of a bridgehead on the left bank of the Neva opposite the Nevskaya Dubrovka, captured and held by the Soviet forces of the Leningrad Front (from September 19, 1941 to April 29, 1942 and from September 26, 1942 to February 17, 1943) during the battle for Leningrad. Before the war began, the Arbuzovo village was on the site of the springboard. "Nevsky Piglet" occupies 2 km along the Neva and 800 m from the coastline and is located after leaving the city of Kirovsk, between the highway Shlisselburg-St Petersburg and the Neva. In 1978, the bridgehead received the official status of the memorial military historical complex "Nevsky Piglet", belonging to the memorial structures of the "Green Belt of Glory". The complex occupies the central and southern parts of the Nevsky Piglet. - Prior to the official status of the memorial, memorable structures on the initiative of veterans and local residents were installed on the territory of Nevsky Piglet. In 1952, the first monument was erected - a ten-meter obelisk with a fence. Architect AI Lapirov; sculptor GP Yakinov.
