April 29, 1952, Semyon Alexandrovich Lyandres was arrested on charges of "aiding Trotskyite saboteur Bukharin." Perhaps the beginning of the process was "a statement about the non-partisan behavior of Lyandres SA and Kerzhentseva in the publication of the book of the American spy Anna Strong dated February 15, 1949", written by the editorial board of the literature on international relations and diplomacy of Gosinoizdat S. K. Bushuev. He was sentenced to 8 years of forced labor camps under article 58 ("counter-revolutionary actions"). In detention was until April 1954, freed with a damaged spine and partially paralyzed .
