Раздел включает цифровую копию «Дела о преобразовании судебной части в России», составленного в 1866 году одним из главных участников судебной реформы С. И. Зарудным (1821–1887).
«Дело о преобразовании судебной части в России» в 74 томах представляет собой уникальное собрание документов, находившихся в делопроизводстве Государственного Совета, Государственной Канцелярии, Второго отделения Собственной Его Императорского Величества Канцелярии в период подготовки проектов Судебных Уставов. По свидетельствам современников, С. И. Зарудным было подготовлено несколько аналогичных комплектов.
«Дело о преобразовании судебной части в России» оцифровано Президентской библиотекой по единственному сохранившемуся в изначальном виде оригиналу, хранящемуся в Российском государственном историческом архиве. Перевод в цифровую форму помог восстановить целостность исторического памятника правовой мысли и юридической практики.
Документы представлены в соответствии с Описью Дела, также составленной С. И. Зарудным. Впервые данная Опись была опубликована в работе Г. А Джаншиева «Основы судебной реформы (К 25-тилетию нового суда): Историко-юридические этюды» (М., 1891), которая также представлена в коллекции.
