State nature reserve "Stolby" "is located on the north-western spurs of the Eastern Sayan, bordering the Central Siberian plateau. The natural boundaries of the reserve territory are the right tributaries of the Yenisey: in the north-east - the Bazaikha river, in the south and south-west - the rivers of Mana and Bolshaya Slizneva. From the north-east "Pillars" adjoin the city of Krasnoyarsk. The reserve was founded in 1925 on the initiative of the city residents to preserve natural complexes around picturesque rocks - syenitic remains. Currently, the area of the reserve is 47 219 hectares. State natural reserve "Stolby" is a part of the association of reserves and national parks of the Altai-Sayan ecological region. - The main attraction of the nature reserve "Stolby" is the rocks. The most resistant to weathering rocks - granites and quartz syenites - gradually formed the dominant heights of the reserve: Kaidynsky Range, Abaktak Mountain, Stolbinsky Highlands. Within the Stolbinsky upland, a single massif was divided into a series of weathering remains - bizarre rock pillars, representing individual, most solid intrusive bodies. In total there are about 190 different rocks and rock formations, which have an unusual shape. Some rock massifs and large stones have their names. Feathers are the most beautiful rock on the whole territory of the reserve. The height of the rock is 42 m, the perimeter of the base is 135 m. According to the shape and construction of the rock, Pera is a few mattress-like syenite separations of a very rare form standing vertically on the foundations. The main "feathers" are four. On the western side the rock is cut by two large caves. Not far from the cliff of Pera, at the extreme eastern point of the Central Pillars is a small rock ridge, called the Lion's Gate. The height of its western part is about 18 m, the eastern part is 40 m, the perimeter of the base is 220 m. In the general mass of the ridge there is a stone arch with small cedars growing on its "overlapping" and a rock resembling a sleeping lion. - Materials used: Wikipedia, article Stolby (reserve) (URL: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%A1%D1%82%D0%BE%D0%BB%D0%B1%D1% 8B _ (% D0% B7% D0% B0% D0% BF% D0% BE% D0% B2% D0% B5% D0% B4% D0% BD% D0% B8% D0% BA), Protected Russia (URL: http : //www.zapovednik-stolby.ru/) .
