State natural reserve "Djerginsky" is a state nature reserve in the Kurumkansky district of the Republic of Buryatia. It was founded in 1992 on the basis of the state complex "Djerginsky" reserve, which existed since 1974. It is located in the upper reaches of the Barguzin River at the junction of three large mountain massifs - Barguzinsky, Ikat and Yuzhno-Muya Ridges. It occupies the Amut depression with the adjoining slopes of ridges to their watersheds in the north and east. The area of the reserve is 238,088 hectares; of which the spaces occupied by water are 894 hectares. A conservation zone with a width of 2 km has been created around the reserve, with a total area of about 7.5 million hectares. Due to the mountainous terrain and inaccessibility, the territory of the reserve has suffered little from human activities. In the forest belt, larch forests predominate. At the moment, the reserve has identified more than 650 species of vascular plants, 29 species of rare and endemic plants, 201 species of vertebrates. In the reserve live the moose, musk deer, wapiti, wild boar, Siberian roe deer, rarely - reindeer. - Balan-Tamur - a lake in the north of Buryatia in the Amut Basin in the Nature Reserve "Djerginsky". It is a lake-like extension of the Barguzin River. The lake is almost of regular round shape: 1 km long and 1 km wide. The average depth is 2 m, the maximum is 15 m. The area of Lake Balan-Tamur is 95 hectares. The level in the lake varies considerably - within a few hours it can rise to 1.5-2 m and also fall quickly. Fish live: burbot, lenok, black Baikal grayling, also taimen. Lake Balan-Tamur is sacred and has a sacral significance for the local population. - Materials used: Wikipedia, article "Djerginsky Reserve" (URL: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%94%D0%B6%D0%B5%D1%80%D0%B3%D0% B8% D0% BD% D1% 81% D0% BA% D0% B8% D0% B9_% D0% B7% D0% B0% D0% BF% D0% BE% D0% B2% D0% B5% D0% B4% D0% BD% D0% B8% D0% BA); State natural reserve "Djerginsky" (URL: http: //www.barguzin-istok.ru/dostoprimechatelnosti) .
