Russia and Switzerland are associated with long-term political, economic and cultural relations lasting more than three centuries. Natives of Switzerland made a significant contribution to the development of Russian science, art and military affairs. The collection dedicated to bilateral relations includes official documents, studies, archival and visual materials, periodicals covering the state structure and history of Switzerland, the life and work of its famous natives, certain aspects of the relationship between Russia and Switzerland in the period of the XVII-XXI centuries, and also documents that reveal the importance of Switzerland as a place of acceptance of acts of international importance.

The collection is timed to coincide with the 130th anniversary of the birth of Pitirim Sorokin - a prominent Russian sociologist and culturologist. He was born on February 4, 1889 into a family of a craftsman in a village in Vologda Governorate. He died on February 10, 1968 in Massachusetts, the USA. Pitirim Sorokin became the founder of integral sociology, made a significant contribution to the development of the theory of social mobility. He published more than 30 books.

The collection, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the Russian philosopher and publicist Pyotr Chaadayev features his works (Philosophical Letters), correspondence, biographical materials and studies dedicated to him.

The collection includes modern sociological studies, which reveal the concept of tolerance, philosophical works of the 19th century, which trace the origins of this problem, and historical materials on the reign of Peter I, illustrating various aspects of social life at that time.

Featured collection includes the studies, official documents, statistical, cartographic and audio records of the XIX-XXI centuries, reflecting the political, administrative and socio-economic situation in the territories currently belonging to the Republic of Kalmykia. The effective Steppe Code (Constitution) of the Republic of Kalmykia is presented as well.

A selection includes the researches, archival documents, sound recordings, maps, plans, postcards reflecting some aspects of the administrative, socio-political, socio-economic and cultural development of the Mari El Republic and the Mari people of the period of the XVII-XX centuries. A current version of the Constitution of the region is also included.

The collection marks the 115th anniversary of the First Duma of the Russian Empire. It comprises the constituent documents, archival materials, political writings, research, verbatim records of meetings, reviews of activities and illustrative materials.

In 2021, Russia hosts the tenth annual campaign "Biblionoch" (Library Night). On April 24, libraries, bookstores, literary museums and cultural centres across the country will present a special program. It will include art workshops, excursions, lectures, meetings with writers, poetry readings and book fairs.

On April 23, 2021, the Museum of the History of Kronstadt launched the exhibition "How Does the Museum Work?". It marks the 30th anniversary of the museum.

Starting from May 31 to June 2, 2021 the Presidential Library will implement the advanced training program "Pedagogical approaches and methods in library and information services".

On April 27, 2021, the Victory Museum (Moscow) will launch the numismatic exhibition "The Great Patriotic War in Contemporary Medal Art".

A new project of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation "Museum Routes of Russia" was launched in Kaluga. It will attract new tourists to the country's little-known museums.

On April 27, 2021, Russia celebrates the Day of Russian Parliamentarism. On this day in 1906, the first Russian parliament launched its work. The establishment of the State Duma became one of the most significant events in Russian history, laying the foundations of parliamentarism in Russia.

Chief bibliographer of the Sverdlovsk Regional Center of the Presidential Library based on the Belinsky Sverdlovsk Regional Universal Scientific Library Marianna Ponikarovskaya took part in the presentation of the book by the Serbian writer Evdzhe A. Evdzhevich "Russians in Kragujevac", which took place in the conference hall of the Yekaterinburg Assembly College.

The State Library of Yugra (Khanty-Mansiysk), within the framework of the XVII Regional Assembly of Cultural and Art Workers, launched the "Yugra VR-Workshop". It is a large joint project of the "Good Deed" Development Centre and the regional central library. It is developed under the governor's grant and aimed at increasing the interest of children and teenagers in the history of their native land with the help of the latest VR technology.

The collection is devoted to the 800th anniversary of the Prince of Novgorod, Grand Prince of Kiev, the saint of the Russian Orthodox Church Alexander Nevsky (1221–1263). It features studies, essays, biographies, hagiographies, speeches, archival and graphic materials.

April 29, 2021 the Presidential Library hosted a multimedia lesson “Petersburg gastronomy: the formation of traditions”. This was the third lesson in a cycle of "The origins of St. Petersburg hospitality: events, people, places" lessons, organized by the Presidential Library in cooperation with the St. Petersburg State University of Economics.

On March 24, 2021, specialists of the Kemerovo Regional Centre of the Presidential Library, operating on the basis of the V. D. Fyodorov State Scientific Library of Kuzbass, held an event from a series of methodological webinars for operators of Regional Centres of Remote Access to the Resources of the Presidential Library.
