The Presidential Library hosted the second stage of the Russian language Olympiad for foreign schoolchildren and students

The final of the Olympiad of the Presidential Library for foreign schoolchildren and students was held from March 29-31, 2023. Following the results of the first stage 94 participants from 27 countries of the world entered the final round. Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Iran, Syria, Mongolia, Slovakia, Italy, Azerbaijan, China, Tajikistan, Spain, Egypt, Brazil, Serbia, Bulgaria and others are among them.

Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff was born on March 20 (April 1), 1873 in a noble family. His father, Vasily Arkadyevich Rachmaninoff (1842-1916), came from the nobility of Tambov Governorate; his mother, Lyubov Petrovna, (nee Butakova; died in 1929), was the only daughter of Major General P. I. Butakov.

Cadet Day at the Presidential Library to mark memorable dates of the Great Patriotic War

April 7, 2023 at 11:00 the Presidential Library will host the Cadet Day. The event is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad and the victorious completion of the Battles of Stalingrad and Kursk, the feat of Soviet soldiers, whose courage and heroism in fierce battles with the Nazis helped to achieve a radical turning point in the Great Patriotic War and liberate the Motherland from the Nazi invaders.

April 29, 2019 marks the 201st anniversary of the birth of Alexander II, the Russian emperor, who was awarded the high national title of the Liberator (1818-1881). The monarch, who managed to give a powerful impetus to the development of the state, is portrayed in the materials of the section of the unique collection of the Presidential Library “The House of Romanovs. Zemsky Sobor 1613". They include biographical essays, research papers, memoirs and speeches by contemporaries dedicated to the sovereign, as well as numerous photographs of the tsar and his family members.
