Sacred objects

A mosque was built at the expense of the owner of the Gurzuf estate P. I. Gubonin (hence its peoples name — Guboninskaya Mosque). It was one of the most beautiful in the Crimea and distinguished for its original architecture. A devastating Crimean earthquake of 1927 did not affect the mosque, but in 1937 its minaret cracked, after which the entrance to it was closed. In a few years the minaret was disassembled to the ground, and the rest of the building used as a warehouse.
