Alexander Pushkin spent three weeks in Gurzuf during his trip across the Crimea in the summer of 1820. In Gurzuf A. S. Pushkin lived in the house of A. E. Richelieu. The building survived and now accommodates the premises of the Museum of A. S. Pushkin. The poet went hiking to the mountains and sailed on a boat to the scenic grottoes. On the top of Pushkin cliff there is a vista point with an excellent view of the sea. Pushkin grotto is a natural cave on the eastern slope of the cliff.
