Virtual tours of Russian museums

A virtual tour of the exhibition "When Finland became Russian" of the military historical Museum of Artillery, Engineers and Signal corps is dedicated to a half-forgotten episode of Russian military history — the Russo-Swedish War of 1808-1809, which ended with Russia's victory and the enter of the Friedrichsham Peace Treaty, according to which Finland flipped from Sweden to Russia. This vast territory became part of the Russian Empire as the Grand Duchy of Finland.

   

Virtual tour “Only together!” Only forward!" around the exhibition of the Military Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineering Troops and Signal Corps, dedicated to the Special Military Operation (SVO), tells how military events developed in the territory of Donbass before the launch of the SVO and after February 24, 2022.

One part of the exhibition space represents the troops of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces of Donetsk People's Republic and Lugansk People's Republic before their reunification with Russia. The other part is dedicated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian nationalist battalions and mercenaries who fight on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Virtual tour of the Priyutino Memorial Estate

The Presidential Library provides a virtual tour of the exposition of the Priyutino Literary and Art Memorial Estate, which is part of the Museum Agency of Leningrad Region. Created jointly by the specialists of the Presidential Library and the Priyutino Memorial Estate, the virtual tour features the historic building and museum exposition located in the former estate of the outstanding 19th century statesman, educator, president of the Academy of Arts and the Imperial Public Library Alexey Nikolaevich Olenin.

The exposition of the Museum of Military History "Nevsky Pyatachok" illustrates one of the most heroic pages of the defence of Leningrad. Here, on a small bridgehead on the left bank of the Neva, the confrontation with the enemy lasted 285 days in 1942-1943. More than two hundred thousand Soviet soldiers lost their lives for a small piece of land regained from the Nazis.

Virtual tour of the museum "And the Muses were not silent ..."

The museum “And the Muses were not silent ...” is dedicated to the culture and art of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War. It is located in Staraya Kolomna, at the intersection of the Moika and Pryazhka rivers, at the Dmitry Shostakovich school № 235. The museum features a variety of materials related to the musical life of the city, the publication of books and notes, the work of libraries and cinemas, the activities of schools, the lives of children in kindergartens and orphanages; documents on front-line brigades, art exhibitions, theater productions and much more.

The head of the museum, Olga Prutt, will present the viewer the exposition with the help of a virtual tour, created jointly with specialists from the Presidential Library. During the virtual tour, the visitor will be able to go through the exhibition halls of the museum “And the Muses were not silent...” and discover new heroic pages of the history of our city. In addition, the museum “And the Muses were not silent ...” is dedicated to the culture and art of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War.

Alexei Vostrikov, the Head of the Bestuzhev Courses Library (St. Petersburg State University), provides a virtual tour created by the Presidential Library to introduce the user to the unique interiors of the Library of Higher Women's Courses and its book collection, as well as the history of women's education in Russia.

Virtual tour around the nonexistent exposition of the State Memorial Museum of Defense and Siege of Leningrad. The tour was created in 2018 before the museum was closed for capital reconstruction. The renewed museum exposition was presented to visitors in September 2019.

Virtual tour of Yulian Semyonov House-Museum

Yulian Semyonov House-Museum (1931–1993) was opened in Oliva settlement (Verkhnyaya Mukhalatka) in Crimea at the initiative of the writer’s daughter Olga Semyonova in a house, where the writer lived and worked from 1983 to 1989. Here he wrote the novels from the series about spy Isayev – Schtierlitz and other works. Celebrated Russian and foreign culture professionals used to come here.
