The Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of the President of Russian Federation presents at SPIEF new electronic exhibition project dedicated to the Siege of Leningrad

During the XXVII St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which takes place from June 5-8, 2024 at the St. Petersburg venue, guests of the event have the opportunity to explore the electronic exhibition project titled "Industry of the Besieged City: The 80th Anniversary of the Complete Liberation of Leningrad from Nazi Siege" prepared by the Presidential Library of the Administrative Directorate of President of the Russian Federation.

Documents about Great Patriotic War, from the German "trophy" collections and the collections of the People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs troops, are presented on the portal of the Presidential Library.

On June 4, 2024, the Presidential Library added documents from the Russian State Military Archives to the "World War II in Archival Documents" collection on its portal. These documents include operational reports from the internal troops of the Soviet Union's People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs (NKVD) on the activities of Ukrainian nationalist armed formations, their collaboration with the German Wehrmacht, and documents from German occupation authorities regarding punitive actions against Soviet partisans in Belarus and Ukraine, as well as mass killings of Soviet civilians and forced labor in Germany.

This event is being organized by the National Library of China in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China and the Ministry of Culture of Russia, with the support of the China Library Society.

Mikhail Glinka in the memoirs of his contemporaries

On June 1st, 2024, the 220th anniversary of the birth of Russian composer Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka will be celebrated. He is the creator of the Russian National Opera and the founder of the Russian school of art music. The Presidential Library has posted a collection of digital copies of books, brochures, archival documents, and visual materials related to Glinka on Library's portal.
