The Presidential library to host a meeting of the Cooperation Council of National Libraries of Russia

On December 15, 2023 at 12:30 the XXVII meeting of the Cooperation Council of National Libraries of the Russian Federation will be held at the Presidential Library. 

The event will be attended by heads and leading specialists of the Presidential Library, the Russian State Library, the National Library of Russia, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Administrative Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation and other government bodies, heads of scientific and cultural institutions of the country.

Within the framework of the Cooperation Council, reports will be given by diectors general of national libraries on their activities in 2023, taking into account the decisions of the XXVI meeting of the Cooperation Council, including information on events dedicated to the Year of Teachers and Mentors, the integration of new territories into the library space of the Russian Federation, the digital transformation of libraries as well plans for 2024. 

A summary report by the coordinators of the Cooperation Council on the joint activities of national libraries in 2023 will also be heard.

Experts will discuss current issues of interaction between national libraries in working groups in the areas of “Organization of scientific and publishing activities”, “Acquisition and collection system”, “International cooperation”.

Based on the results of the XXVII meeting, a protocol of the Cooperation Council will be drawn up and signed, which will determine the further direction of joint activities of the three national libraries of Russia for the coming year.

The Cooperation Council of National Libraries of Russia is based on a tripartite Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation.

The goal of cooperation is to use the potential of the national libraries of Russia in the interests of the development of domestic and world culture, science and education, in the disclosure of the cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation, in the development and implementation of state library policy, in the formation of a unified Russian electronic knowledge space.

Meetings of the Cooperation Council are held annually and alternately in one of the three national libraries.

Accreditation of media representatives is until 12:00 December 14, 2023.

The letter should contain the full name, date and place of birth, passport data (series, number, place of registration), a list of carry-on equipment, contact phone numbers, the name of the media.

We draw the attention of the media representatives that it is necessary to forward applications for accreditation and arrive at the event in advance.

Entrance to the Presidential Library is carried out only by prior registration and upon showing a passport: for media representatives - through entrance № 2, participants and guests of the event - through entrance № 1.

In order to reduce the risks of the spread of a new coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the use of personal protective equipment during the event is mandatory for all attendees.
