Conference "Architecture of University Education" takes place in Presidential Library
Not just education, but a strategic resource:
how leaders for the economy of the future are raised?
On 17-18 April 2025, St. Petersburg State University of Economics together with the Presidential Library will hold the VIII National Conference with international participation "Architecture of University Education: Strategies for the Development of Human Capital of Russia".
The conference will bring together representatives of federal authorities and major corporations, heads of leading universities, independent experts and public figures to determine the vector of development of the Russian education system and its role in the formation of human capital necessary for sustainable business growth and innovative development of the country's economy.
This year, Vladimir Knyaginin, Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg, will open the conference and take part in the plenary discussion. Among the experts of the 2025 conference are Igor Anatolievich Maksimtsev, Rector of St. Petersburg State University of Economics; Svetlana Mikhailovna Kochetova, Deputy Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science; Natik Adalatovich Kuliev, Acting Director of the National Accreditation Agency for Education; Stanislav Evgenyevich Prokofiev, Rector of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation; Dmitry Evgenyevich Sukhoverkhov, Chairman of the North Federal State Budgetary Institution of Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
The key event of the conference will be the plenary discussion "Human Capital for Russia's Advanced Economic Development", which will be held on 17 April from 12:30 to 14:30 at the Presidential Library (Senate Square, 3). Prior to the plenary discussion at 11:00, a press conference will be held. Vedomosti Severo-Zapad business publication will be the official partner of the press conference.
The plenary discussion will bring together the country's leading experts - representatives of government, science and business - to discuss key strategies for the development of Russia's human capital. The focus will be on finding solutions for creating effective mechanisms for human capital management, integrating new technologies into educational processes and training specialists to meet the requirements of the future economy. Key topics for discussion: the state as an architect of the human capital development system, business as a co-investor in human capital development, and the university as a leader in training for the new economy.
Over the past four years, an important part of the conference has traditionally been the youth block, which brings together students from different regions of the country, provides an opportunity to engage in professional discussions with leading experts and business representatives, as well as to present their solutions to current business problems and contribute to the training of a new generation of professionals.
The university environment becomes not just a place for acquiring knowledge, but a platform for forming specialists capable of solving complex problems of the future economy. The Presidential Library, as a leading centre of historical and civic education, provides an in-depth view of educational processes in terms of education, national identity and continuity of values. The joint participation of two social institutions in the organisation of the conference underlines the importance of an integrated approach: technological modernisation is impossible without reliance on historical heritage and spiritual and moral guidelines.
The second day of the conference, 18 April, will be held at the St. Petersburg State University of Economics (30/32 Griboedov Embankment). The programme includes educational workshops "Development of Project Approaches in Education: Experience and Best Practices" and "How Independent Assessment of Education Quality Helps Higher Education Institutions to Be Competitive".
Key partners of the conference include Sberbank, Gazprom Neft, Gazpromneft-Snabzheniye, RBC-St. Petersburg, Vedomosti Severo-Zapad, the Association of SPbSEU Alumni, the Federal Educational and Methodological Association for Higher Education in the 38.00.00 Economics and Management, Financial Market Professional Qualifications Council, Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science, National Accreditation Agency for Education.
