
Video lecture at Presidential Library to tell about constitutional rights of person to receive qualified legal assistance
On 22 May 2025 at 16:00 Moscow time the Presidential Library will host a lecture on the constitutional right of everyone to receive qualified legal assistance as part of the video lecture "Knowledge of Russia".
Vadim Mamonov, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of State Law of the Pushkin Leningrad State University, will continue the series of lectures related to the Presidential Library's fund "Man, his rights and freedoms - the highest constitutional value".
The lecture will focus on the constitutional foundations and historical stages of formation of the right of everyone to receive qualified legal assistance. As an institution of civil society, the Bar will be considered, and the concepts of "advocacy", "lawyer" and "defence counsel" will be defined. The lecturer will pay attention to the peculiarities of the legal regulation of attorney-client privilege, provision of free legal aid and the legal guarantees of lawyer's independence.
The event will take place at Saint-Petersburg, Senate Square, 3.
